Confederate Monuments Removal,Symbol Politics and Public Life:An Anthropology Observation on Public Life in New Orleans,America

美国的符号政治有着特定的历史与社会语境,牵涉族群、奴隶制历史、民权、经济和文化等多个方面,并往往被纳入种族框架加以解释。但这一框架简化了美国社会中不同群体的具体实践以及公共生活的多重面向。本文围绕2015-2017年美国新奥尔良的邦联像移除案事件和城市公共生活进行民族志书写,呈现并建立一种理解美国社会公共生活的多层次框架。

Symbol politics in America has its own historical and social contexts,involving ethnicity,slavery,civil rights,economy and culture,which is often explained in the frame of race.However,this practice simplifies the multiple dimensions of life practices of different peoples and public life in America.This paper describes the confederate monuments removal and public life in New Orleans in 2015 to 2017,tring to present and build a multi-faceted frame for understanding the American public life.
