The care of the various generations of the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama is one of the main factors for the continual growth of the religious prestige of Kumbum Monastery in Amdo.On one hand,the various generations of the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama residing at Kumbum,as well as their various religio-political activates made a deep influence on the religious,political,and cultural development of the area.On the other hand,Kumbum Monastery became a good base for the generations of the Dalai Lama and the Panchen Lama for the propagation of the dharma and the protection of the religion and the people.
