One of The direction of English teaching reform in higher vocational institutes and application-oriented colleges is English for Occupational Purposes,shortened for EOP,which requires excellent EOP teachers.Faced with the teaching reform,EOP teachers need to continuously improve their professional qualities the level of which determines whether the reform will succeed or not.The analysis on the connotation and current situation of EOP teachers'professional development contributes to provide some strategies for their professional development.
