Afghanistan Peace Process: New Trends and Prospects

2018年以来,特朗普授意美国国务院高官与塔利班直接谈判,阿富汗政府则力推与塔利班和谈的"喀布尔进程",俄罗斯等地区国家加大介入阿富汗问题力度,阿富汗和平进程出现新进展。然而,如何弥合各方不同利益诉求以及避免地缘博弈干扰仍将是推进和平进程面临的难题。作为阿富汗近邻,中国近年来加大对阿投入,着力劝和促谈,取得一定积极效果,正成为阿富汗重建与和平进程的重要贡献者和参与者。

Last year,President Trump instructed senior officials of the State Department to negotiate directly with the Taliban.The government of Afghanistan consistenly held meetings of the Kabul Process for Peace and Security Cooperation.The progress in Afghan peace process stems from the fact that all related parties have realized that Afghan problem cannot be solved only by force and attached more importance to peace process.However,the peace process still faces challenges,such as exploring the commonalities among different parties and avoiding the negative impact from geopolitical games.As a close neighbor of Afghanistan,China is playing a more and more important role in Afghanistan in recent years,especially in promoting peace talks.In the future,China will consistently support the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process with the purpose of achieving lasting peace,stability and prosperity of Afghanistan.
