The main contents and progress of molecular technology in peony research are reviewed in this paper.The main applications include molecular marker technology in peony genetic diversity analysis,fingerprint mapping construction,early hybrid identification and gene mapping.The current problems in this research field are pointed out,and the application of peony molecular breeding is prospected.
