作为我国古代辞书系统的著作,西汉语言学家扬雄所撰的《方言》一书词汇较为丰富,颇具研究价值。本文将从该书的称谓词入手,依次对其亲属称谓、社交称谓展开分析,揭示汉代人重视道德礼制的浓厚宗法观念。

As an important masterpiece of the ancient Chinese lexicographical works,"Fang-Yen"is well worth our research for its rich and abundant vocabulary,which is written by the linguist Yang Hsiung in the Western Han Dynasty.This thesis focuses on its personal appellations to make analyses on its kinship terminologies,social appellations.Thus it attempts to reveal a thick patriarchal idea in which morality and etiquette are emphasized a lot by people living in the Han Dynasty.
