The research work in the past 50 years on skin microbiota has been reviewed,including methods,characteristics of skin microbiota and key influencing factors.The dynamic relationship between skin microbiota and skin health has also been further discussed.Finally,the potential applications have also been proposed.It is pointed out that skin microbiota may necessarily be applied in daily chemical products in future,as a tool for balanced skin for being healthy and beautiful.
