This paper introduces the practical problems in the use of chain drive belt conveyor and analyses the causes of the problems,and puts forward that the soft start of chain drive belt conveyor should be reformed.At the same time,several methods of realizing soft start of belt conveyor are introduced,and the advantages and disadvantages of on-site use are analyzed.Finally,a chain drive belt conveyor is modified by adding soft starter,and its effect is evaluated.
