Persuasion and Discursive Strategies of Metaphor in Political Speech:Critical Metaphor Analysis on Trump's First Congressional Speech

政治领导人话语的隐喻研究对于分析国外政治话语的意识形态传播具有重要作用。本文采用批评隐喻分析的方法解读特朗普2017年2月28日在美国国会两党联席会议上发表的施政演说。考察特朗普政策表述中的隐喻运用的类别、隐喻的说服功能及其相应的话语策略,探究政治领导人如何运用隐喻建构"自我-他者"身份,表达政治立场,达到既定的交际目的。

The metaphorical study on political discourse plays an important role in analyzing the ideological dissemination of foreign political discourse.This article uses critical metaphor analysis to interpret Trump’s congressional speech on February 28,2017.This paper aims to investigate the categories of metaphors used in Trump’s policy expressions,the persuasive function of metaphors and their corresponding discourse strategies,and to explore how political leaders use metaphors to construct“self-other”identities,express political positions,and achieve established communicative purposes.
