摘要
澳大利亚著名女作家伊丽莎白·乔利(1923-2007)生于英国,36岁时跟随丈夫移民澳大利亚。乔利创作的作品数量多、影响大,她的小说《井》获得澳大利亚文学界的最高奖———迈尔斯·富兰克林奖。纵观她的人生和作品,可以看出乔利的创作深受其坎坷的生活经历影响。本文从乔利的人生经历对自身思想品格的影响、她的人生感悟、对人类普遍情感的反思等方面研究乔利的生平和创作的关系。揭示出作家从坎坷人生经历出发,超越自我,关注人的生命、人的尊严,推动澳大利亚文学走向世界。
Elizabeth Jolly(1923-2007),a famous Australian woman writer,was born in England and immigrated to Australia with her husband when she was 36 years old.Jolly's works are numerous and influential.Her novel The Well won the Miles Franklin Award,the highest award in Australian literature.Looking at her life and works,we can see that Jolly's creation is deeply influenced by hardships in her life experience,which taught her to gain insight into the universal human feelings and desires about the world and life.Thus,her novels focused on the life conditions and dignity of human beings,and expressed aspirations for well-beings of the common people.In this way,she helped Australian literature edged into the platform of the world literature.
