The Egg is written by famous American writer Sherwood Anderson,which concentrated on the people’s spiritual world in the small town in the transitional society from central and western America.This thesis employs Lexical Stylistic Analysis methods to analyze adjectives about father’s personality,revealing themes that people get lost in the American Dream and become the victims of the American Dream.
