Objective To investigate the efficacy of continuous lumbar cistern drainage in patients with acute ruptured intracranial aneurysms. Methods Sixty patients with acute ruptured intracranial aneurysms treated in our hospital from July 2017 to July 2018 were enrolled and divided in to the control group(n=30,given simple neurosurgical clipping)and the observation group(n=30,given neurosurgical clipping combined with continuous lumbar cistern drainage)according to the random number table. The hospitalization, complications and prognosis of the two groups were observed. Results The excellent and good rate of recovery in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The average hospitalization time and hospitalization cost of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).In addition, the incidence rates of complications, hydrocephalus and rehaemorrhagia in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In the acute rupture period of intracranial aneurysms, neurosurgical clipping combined with continuous lumbar cistern drainage can improve the prognosis of patients, reduce complications, shorten hospitalization time, and reduce treatment costs, which is worthy to be promoted.
