汉英翻译中隐性逻辑的显性化研究——以刘宇昆译《北京折叠》为例

Research on the Explicitation of Concealed Logic in Chinese-English Translation: A Case Study of Ken Liu's Translation of Folding Beijing

汉语句子或句群内部的逻辑关系通常由语序来实现,而英语则通过外在形态体现逻辑关系。因此,汉英翻译时,需要对汉语源文的隐性逻辑进行显性化处理。参照英汉语言对比、语篇分析和句法学的相关理论,以汉语科幻小说《北京折叠》的刘宇昆英译本为研究对象,分析并归纳出八种汉英翻译中隐性逻辑的显性化途径,提出中国译者应着重借鉴情景具体化、增译总说词、逻辑重组这三种难度系数较高的逻辑显性化途径。

The internal logical relationship of Chinese sentences or sentence groups is usually achieved by word order instead of extrinsic signs used in English sentences.Therefore,the explicitation of concealed logic in source texts is necessary in Chinese-English translating.Referring to the contrastive study of English and Chinese,discourse analysis theories and the relevant theories of syntax,this study takes Ken Liu's English translation of the Chinese science fiction Folding Beijing as the research object and analyzes the explicitation process of implicit logic in Chinese-English translation.It concludes that there are eight explicitating ways in Chinese-English translation,in which Chinese translators should draw on these three of high degree of difficulty:clearing the situation,adding summings-up,and reshuffling the logic.
