A Narrative Exploration into Illustrations in Chongzhen Version of the Golden Lotus

崇祯本《金瓶梅》小说插图有着独特的叙事魅力。将这些插图置身于特定的民族文化语境之中,通过研究这些插图的图式、风格及审美功能等,将其还原于当时社会所处的历史文化情景之中,进而解剖那个时期的民族文化心理和精神,为重塑中国古代文学的审美价值体系添砖加瓦。这种将美术史学、图像学、文学和叙事学等学科交叉进行研究的方法,在当下的人文社会科学研究领域,无疑是一种新的尝试。

The illustrations in emperor Chongzhen’s version of the Golden Lotus have unique narrative charisma.By relating the illustrations with the specific national cultural context of the time,this paper tries to study the elements such as schema,styles and aesthetic functions of the illustrations in order to restore them into the historical and cultural scenes of that time and then analyzes the national cultural mentality and spirit of that historical period in an attempt to contribute to reshaping the aesthetic value system of ancient Chinese literature.The study method of intersecting art history,graphics,literature and narratology is undoubtedly a new attempt in the field of current humanities and social science research.
