摘要
英语学术写作能力对于ESL学生具有重要意义,但是国内对于该方面的教学与研究有所欠缺。首先从课程定位、教学目标、教学内容、教学方式、评价方式等方面介绍了美国马萨诸塞大学ESL学术写作课程情况,在此基础上从以读促写、以课堂讨论开拓写作思路、注重写作过程、重视培养批判性思维能力等方面分析了美国高校学术写作课程的特点,并阐述了对我国ESL学术写作教学的启示和借鉴意义。
English academic writing ability is of great significance to ESL students.However,both teaching and research in this aspect are lacking in Chinese universities.This paper first introduces the situation of ESL academic writing curriculum at the University of Massachusetts from its orientation,teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching methods and evaluation methods.On this basis,the paper analyzes its characteristics such as reading-facilitated,in-class discussion supported,valuing writing process,and attaching importance to the cultivation of students’critical thinking ability.Finally,the referential values of the course to ESL academic writing at universities in China are expounded.
