Comment on the “Phoney Revolutionist” Phenomenon in Revolutionary Novels in the Late Qing Dynasty

晚清社会集中出现了一批舍生取义的革命前驱,但在革命派小说中却大量出现了"口头革命家"与"吃革命饭的先生"。这些小说所营造的具有历史现场感的场景,一方面反映了鱼龙混杂的社会现实,另一方面,通过真假志士的对比,更加彰显出孤绝奋斗的革命者理想主义的精神内核。

A group of precursors who sacrifice their lives for revolution appeared in the late Qing Dynasty.There are also a large number of“verbal revolutionists”and“Mr.revolution who eat revolutionary meals”in revolutionary novels.On one hand,the historical scenes created by these novels reflect the complex social reality.On the other hand,through the comparison between genuine and false revolutionists,it also highlights the spiritual core of idealism in the revolutionary struggle.
