Zinc acetylacetonate(abbreviation:Zn-acac)as auxiliary thermal stabilizer for PVC is prepared by the reaction of zinc oxide and acetylacetone under the one-step liquid phase method using ethanol as the solvent, afterwards the product was characterized by elemental analysis(EA),X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).The CaSt2,ZnSt2 and auxiliary thermal stabilizer Zn-acac were selected as the research system, and further through the oven heat aging test and Congo red test to investigate its thermal stability in PVC.The results show that when the mass ratio of selected CaSt2 and ZnSt2 is 0.375∶0.125,which is superior to other additives of the addition of 0.02 g Zn-acac,the thermal stabilization time reaches 46 min and the PVC test piece is completely darkened to 100 min. After adding 0.02 g of Zn-acac and different ratios of CaSt2 and ZnSt2,which indicated that the best mass ratio of CaSt2 and ZnSt2 was 0.4∶0.1 and excellent synergistic effect was exhibited, the thermal stabilization time was 55 minutes, and by comparison with dipentaerythritol(DiPE)and epoxidized soybean oil(ESBO),the Zn-acac heat stabilization effect is better.
