Transformative learning theory focus on formation of critical thinking, which is essential target for current medical education reformation. It has a positive influence in nursing education globally. This article discusses concept and key elements of transformative learning theory, combines with characteristics of diploma entry nursing students to explore the application of theory in nursing education and provides an innovation perspective for the teaching model of "college to undergraduate"in nursing specialty.
