The general situation and trend of technology development of automotive transmission system were studied. The formation mechanism and hazard of its failure were analyzed,and the change rule of its technical condition was found out.Then,the corresponding fault diagnosis and maintenance technology were put forward.The system can smoothly transfer the engine power output to the driving wheels.The vehicle can drive normally under different working conditions,and the power performance and fuel economy are good.
