当代台湾地区人间佛教发展中的“世俗化”与“庸俗化”

“Secularization”and“Vulgarization”in the Development of Human Buddhism in the Contemporary Taiwan

当代台湾佛教以佛光山、法鼓山、慈济基金会以及中台禅寺之"四大道场"为主流,四个派系中,佛光山、法鼓山、慈济基金会皆以开展"人间佛教"为旗帜。目前"四大道场"并立的格局,已经逐渐向佛光、慈济之"双峰并峙"的格局发生转移。但其繁荣发展的同时,也出现了过分"世俗化"进程中的种种两难问题,甚至导致了"庸俗化"和推广偶像崇拜的弊端,无形中充当了"一切存在皆合理"这种世俗观念的辩护士,此种现象值得镜鉴和反思。

In contemporary Taiwan,the mainstream Buddhist circles are comprised of“four dojos”:the Fo Guang Shan Monastery,Dhai,ma Drum Mountain,Tzu Chi Foundation and Chung Tai Chan Monastery.Among the four factions,the Fo Guang Shan Monastery,Dharma Drum Mountain,and Tzu Chi Foundation all pursue“Humanistic Buddhism”as their goal.Today,the pattern of the“four dojos”is gradually shifting to that of the“twin giants”between Foguang Shan Monastery and Tzu Chi Foundation.However,with its prosperity and development,various dilemmas also appear in the process of excessive“secularization”,which even leads to the malpractice of“vulgarization”and idolatry promotion,thus virtually acting as the advocate of the secular concept of“all being is reasonable”.All in all,this phenomenon is worthy of our reflection.
