非认知能力对学业成就的影响——基于中国青少年数据的研究 被引量:28

The Impact of Non-cognitive Skills on Academic Achievement:Evidence on Youth of China

摘要 本文基于中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据,分析了青少年的非认知能力对其学业成就的影响。研究发现,青少年的非认知能力对其学业成就影响显著,而控制了认知能力之后,结论并没有改变。非认知能力的作用堪比认知能力,甚至更高。父母和学校应加强对青少年非认知能力的培养,促进其全面发展,保持其长期竞争优势。此外,非认知能力的影响存在显著的性别、城乡和家庭背景差异。 Based on the data of China Family Panel Studies(CFPS),we analyze the impact of non-cognitive skills on youth's academic achievement.The results show that the two variables on non-cognitive skills,including locus of control and self-esteem,are significantly associated with test ranking.The association remains unchanged even after cognitive skills are controlled for.Non-cognitive skills are even more important than cognitive skills,in terms of impacting student s educational achievement.The results suggest that,in the future,both parents and schools need to pay more attention to non-cognitive abilities besides cognitive abilities.Also,the influences of non-cognitive skills on test ranking are dependent on gender,rural-urban residences,and family background.
