中国当代小说中叠词的翻译——以《红高粱家族》《活着》及其英文译本为例

Translation of Reduplicated Words in Chinese Contemporary Novels:Taking Red Sorghum,To Live and Their English Translations as an Example

叠词和叠词翻译一直是国内学界一个重要的研究对象。在中国当代小说《红高粱家族》和《活着》这两部作品中,叠词使用比较频繁,翻译时往往采取意译或者不译,变通翻译比例较低且主要以音韵手段实现。展望相关研究的未来发展,叠词翻译和叠词使用研究还需继续深入,本文的研究发现也期待得到进一步讨论,传统文本研究在中国文学"走出去"相关翻译研究中也要不断加强。

Reduplicated words and their translation have long been an important study object in China’s academic circles. In Red Sorghum and To Live such two Chinese contemporary novels, reduplicated words are used much frequently, and in the novels’ English translations the words usually translated in a paraphrasing way or simply not translated. If they are translated in a flexible way, their rhythm features tend to be preserved. In the future, the studies on the translation and use of reduplicated words need go deeper, findings of this paper require further discussion, and traditional text study should be reinforced in the translation studies related to the “going out” of Chinese literature.
