In order to solve the problems lacking of the outfitting equipment modeling with variable parameters in the standard database of FORAN,the key technologies including the process of outfitting equipment modeling,the parametric programming based on geometry macro and the reference point setting of equipment installation are described combining with the engineering examples.The secondary development on FORAN is helpful for marine engine designers familiar with the parametric modeling technology,improving the design efficiency,and shortening the design cycle.
