生命的学问与当代学术发展

摘要 当代学术规范源自西方,以追求新知为尚,背后当然有其知识论的默认。这种特定的知识观所预设的知识乃是经过证成为真的信念。这种知识观在近代的西方成为主流看法,它有其优点,但亦有其限制。我们藉由唐君毅先生可知,中国学问的精彩在于生命的学问,其中有价值的定位与选择,更有真实生命的内在体悟。若是完全以命题知识或可累积知识的路数去研究中国学问,实难相应,易趋僵化而失其活力。因此,有志承担中国哲学继续发展使命的当代学者,一方面要学习西方哲学的优点,另一方面要认清用西方哲学处理中国哲学的局限,必须以相应的态度看待中国哲学,将之视为生命的学问。如此,至少能更贴切地理解既存的中国哲学;其次,依此基础进一步回应生命问题、时代问题,在有限的现实世界结构中若能回应以具有恒常意义的智慧与思想,自然成为日后中国哲学继续发展的养分。 Contemporary academic norms originate from the west,with the pursuit of new knowledge and the acquiescence of its epistemology.The knowledge presupposed from this particular knowledge view,which becomes the mainstream perspective in the modern west with its merit and limitation,is proven to be true belief.It is known from TANG Junyi that the excellence of Chinese learning lies in the knowledge of life,which includes value positioning and selecting,as well as inner understanding of real life.If studied by way of propositional knowledge or accumulated knowledge,Chinese learning will become unadaptable and rigid,and lose its vitality.Contemporary scholars who are willing to undertake the mission of continuous development of Chinese philosophy should,on the one hand,learn the advantages of western philosophy;on the other hand,they should recognize the limitations of handling Chinese philosophy with western philosophy,and take Chinese philosophy as the knowledge of life with a corresponding attitude.In this way,the existing Chinese philosophy can be better understood and the questions of life and times based on it can be responded.In the limited real world,the response with wisdom and thoughts of lasting significance will naturally become the nutrient for the development of Chinese philosophy in the future.
