Research on the Acoustic Rhetoric in Literature

从语言学或符号学的角度来考量,文学不仅是形象的艺术,也是声音的艺术,形象与声音共同构筑了文学的两极。甚至可以说,声音是文学的第一能指,而形象只是声音(意义)的显现。如果循着历史的踪迹进行追寻,各种文学样式都具有声音修辞的属性。当前一个千真万确的事实,则是视觉依然占统治地位,听觉被视觉所放逐,无论在文学领域还是文化领域都是如此。为了文学的良性发展,在当前的语境之下,重新唤起人们对文学中声音修辞的关注成为一项刻不容缓的任务。

In terms of linguistics or semiotics,literature is an art of both image and sound.Image and sound construct the two poles of literature.Even we can say that sound is the first signifier of literature while image is just the demonstration of sound(meaning).Following the trail of history,the various literary styles have taken the attribute of sound rhetoric.Moreover,there is a true fact that no matter in the field of literature or culture,vision is still dominant while audition has been exiled by vision.For the sake of the benign development of literature,it is an urgent task to evoke people′s attention on sound rhetoric in literature in the current context.
