On Ancient and Modern Chinese Characters

古今字是训诂学的术语,但是学者观点不尽一致。论文为了尽可能规范与精确古今字术语,从以下四个方面着手:一是简述古今字的源流与变化发展;二是详细归纳分析今之古代汉语与古代汉语专题等教材对古今字的定义所显示的特点;三是重新拟定古今字的定义;四是简要辨析古今字与"同源字"通假字""异体字"等的异同。

Ancient and modern Chinese characters are terms of exegesis,but scholars’views are inconsistent in this aspect.In order to standardize and refine terms on ancient and modern Chinese characters as much as possible,the paper starts from the following four aspects:firstly,a brief description is presented of the origin and development of ancient and modern characters;secondly,a detailed induction and analysis is made of the characteristics of the definition of ancient and modern characters in ancient Chinese and ancient Chinese textbooks;thirdly,the definition of ancient and modern characters is reformulated;and fourthly,a brief analysis is made of the similarities and differences between ancient and modern Chinese characters and homologous words such as“cognate characters”,“synonymic characters”and“variant characters”.
