李贤注《后汉书》并非纯粹学术性活动。作为太子的政治人物身份,决定了李贤注《后汉书》除了学术因素外,还有更重要的政治因素,尤其与武则天政治地位的上升并对李贤太子地位产生威胁密切相关。分析李贤注《后汉书》背景中武则天政治地位上升轨迹的几个重要政治事件,可以看出李贤注《后汉书》的政治动因。李贤通过注《后汉书》,扩大声誉,抗衡武后的揽权威胁,巩固自己太子的权力地位。

Li Xian's annotation of Hou Han Shu was not a pure academic activity.The political identity as a crown prince determines that Li Xian's annotation of Hou Han Shu has essential political factors besides academic ones,which is especially closely related to the threat of Li Xian's status for Wu Zetian's growing political status.This paper analyzes the political background of why Li Xian annotated Hou Han Shu from several important political events which increased Wu Zetian's political status.Through the analysis of these events,the political motivation of Li Xian's annotation on Hou Han Shu was revealed.Through annotating Hou Han Shu,Li Xian expanded his reputation,contended against the threat from Empress Wu Zetian,and consolidated his power and status as the crown prince.
