Tibet's Strategic Position Changing in China's Overall Situation during the 40 Years of the Reform and Opening-up

中华人民共和国成立以来,我国真正走向现代国家,西藏作为一个边疆民族地区在国家全局中的战略地位得以确立。改革开放以来,我国现代国家进一步发展,全国各族人民正在努力建设富强民主文明和谐美丽的社会主义现代化强国,西藏在国家全局中的战略地位不断提升,这不仅是中央对西藏在国家全局中战略地位的认识,更是国家对西藏在国家全局中地位的战略规划和实施;基于改革开放,中央统筹考虑国家区域平衡发展、民族问题的解决和西藏地区发展状况,把西藏在国家全局中的地位提升到战略高度,极大地促进了西藏经济社会的发展,加强了西藏与全国的交往交流交融。改革开放40年的发展基础,为未来西藏与全国一道实现社会主义现代化目标提供了条件,社会主义现代化强国建成之时,西藏必然成为我国现代国家牢不可分的一部分。

China moved towards modernization since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and Tibet’s national strategic position has become clear.With the reform and Opening-up policy,Chinese modernization process goes rapidly.Every ethnic groups endeavor to develop China a prosperous,democratic,civilized,harmonious and modern country.Tibet’s important strategic value has been recognized by the party central Committee with relevant plans and actions.Tibet’s strategic position in the overall national situation has been continuously enhanced.The coastal cities of China are developed quickly by virtue of the reform and Opening-up policy.At the same time,the central government also takes balanced development strategy in different regions,and solving ethnic matters and development of TAR into consideration.As a result,TAR’s national strategic position increased,social and economic development was promoted,and communication and integration with other places were strengthened.The outcomes of forty year’s reform and Opening-up policy has laid a solid foundation for TAR to reach modernization with other places in China at the same time.When China becomes a strong socialistic country,a developing and promising TAR is a certain part of it.
