The Protection Methods Based on the Study of Spatial form Evolution of Yulin Walled City

榆林卫城是明代长城沿线九边重镇之一,其城池轮廓、功能布局、空间格局、道路系统等诸多方面均与典型的中国传统城市形态大相径庭、独具特色。通过分析、梳理榆林卫城的城市形态特征及历史演进过程,从规划选址思想、地理环境特征、国家政治形势、边防军事策略、营建技术发展、生态环境变迁等方面探讨榆林卫城城市形态演变的影响因素和作用机制,从而得出此类城市未来发展和遗产保护的有益启示。

Being one o f nine significant fortresses along with Great wall in the Ming Dynasty ,Yulin walled dty has a unique urban morphology and differs markedly from Chinese traditional cities such as urban shape, functional layout, urban pattern and road system etc . This paper analyzes the characteristic and evolutionary process o f Yulinwalled city9 s iirban morphology ,while discussing the main impacting factors and their acting mechanism including urban site choosing principle, geographical trait, national political situation ,military tacticof border defense, construction technology development, ecological environment transformation and so on. Finally, some instructiveconclusions are made that related to such kind walled cutie,s fixtureurban development and urban heritage protection.
