Textile artifacts were mainly processed and woven with plant fibers and animal fibers, the materials of which were sensitive to the environment, and very easy to deteriorate under the influences of various factors;the urgent restoration after their deterioration has strict requirements to the manpower, time and technology;limited by objective conditions, many museums cannot protect and maintain some valuable textile artifacts. On the contrary, the preventive preservation measures could reduce the costs on technology and manpower while prevent the deterioration before it occurs. By starting from the special characteristics of the textile artifacts in museum collections and the problems threatening them, this paper discusses the feasible plans of preventive preservation of the textile artifacts in the aspects of the adjustment and control of the micro-environment, routine monitoring and maintenance, macro-management, and so on.
