Effects of Role Construction to Semantic Selection During Consecutive Interpreting

本研究以30名英语口译专业硕士研究生为受试对象,考察英汉交传过程中角色构建对语义选择的影响。通过口译测试、问卷调查和译后访谈,进行受试内(比较有无语义选择困难的两篇文本试译)与受试间(比较有无主体角色构建的两组受试表现)比较研究。研究显示,英汉口译过程中,主体角色构建能减少提取准确意义的难度,角色互动频率越高,主体性构建障碍越低,语义选择的准确率越高,反之亦然。实验结果可为主体性概念框架构建提供实证数据,为处理英汉交传过程语义选择提供解决方案。

This study explores effects of role construction to semantic selection during consecutive interpreting,with 30 MTI students as subjects.Through collecting data from tests,questionnaires and interviews,within-subject experiment(on semantic selection)and between-subject experiment(on role construction)were conducted.The results indicate that during interpreting,role construction may reduce the degree of difficulty in sense-making process.In addition,the higher the frequency of role interaction is,the more accurate the result is,and vice versa.It is hoped that the findings may provide evidence for construction of subjectivity conceptual framework as well as solutions for semantic selection in C-E consecutive interpreting.
