In his 1988 Freedom Summer,Doug McAdam focused on Civil Rights Movement joined by elite white students.The works profoundly reveals the significance of the′summer of freedom′movement and the historical impact in the process of historical development from the perspective of white elite college students and their inner experience,and putting the historical event of′freedom summer′movement in the broad historical background.Freedom Summer is a more influential works on oral history.It expounds the historical impact of the′freedom summer′movement in the 1960s,and reveals the links among the′freedom summer′movement and the student,anti-war and women′s movements.The white elite as the entry point of the study also reflects the new concept of ethnic history in study on the American civil rights movement.
