生态政治学家萨拉·萨卡从生态角度追溯前苏联社会主义的失败原因,论述生态社会主义的可行性及资本主义制度的反生态本质,指出人类社会发展必将选择生态社会主义道路,生态资本主义道路是行不通的。批判了"技术决定论"的乌托邦性,阐述了生态与社会主义制度结合的可行性,提出了构建生态社会主义的诸多建议,对中国坚持科学发展观、走可持续发展道路、建设"美丽中国"具有重要启示,但他对市场社会主义所持的批判需要客观分析。
