新时代是我国实现从体育大国到体育强国转变的关键时期。2022年北京冬季奥运会的成功申办,为实现冰雪体育强国这一目标提供了重要契机。让"3亿人参与冰雪运动"是我国实现冰雪体育强国这一目标的口号,让冰雪运动成为国民运动的潮流,成为全民健身的重要组成部分,充分发挥和利用我国冰雪运动自然资源是当前和未来几年需要努力的方向。高校作为知识和思想的前沿单位,大学生作为社会思想潮流的先导和践行发扬冰雪运动的中坚力量,应立足冬季奥运会大背景,深入高校学生群体,去积极研究探索冰雪运动在冬奥背景下高校开展的新时代意义和价值。
