Objective: To observe effects of fixed medical team family visit combined with maternal and child safety action plan health education on pregnancy outcomes of the first-born pregnant women. Methods: 120 first-born pregnant women were selected as study subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into observation group ( n =60) and control group ( n =60). The control group received routine pregnancy care services, while the observation group used the fixed medical team family visit combined with maternal and child safety action plan health education based on that of the control group. The mode of delivery (vaginal delivery, cesarean section), lateral episiotomy rate, pregnancy complications during pregnancy and perinatal adverse outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results: The cesarean section rate, lateral episiotomy rate, and pregnancy complication incidences were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group ( P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of perinatal adverse outcomes between the two groups ( P >0.05). Conclusions: The fixed medical team family visit combined with maternal and child safety action plan health education for the first-born pregnant women will help to reduce the cesarean section rate, lateral episiotomy rate, and pregnancy complication incidences, which is of positive significance for improving the maternal and child outcomes.
