On the Influence of Western Modern Drama to Soyinka's Creation

尼日利亚剧作家索因卡号称"当代非洲戏剧之父",创作上深受雅里、布莱希特、贝克特等西方现代派戏剧家的影响。索因卡将西方现代派戏剧的艺术技巧同约鲁巴文化传统有机融合,突破了传统写实戏剧的限制,创造出独具特色的非洲荒诞剧。他的戏剧作品呈现出混乱无序的反传统剧情、寓意深刻的象征意象构建、怪异夸张的语言行为、交错复杂的舞台时空场景等荒诞特色。

Nigerian writer Soyinka is called"the father of contemporary African Theatre".His creation is influenced by a lot of western modern dramatist,such as Jarry,Brecht and Beckett.Wole Soyinka mixes the art of western modern drama and Yoruba traditional culture,breaks through the limitation of traditional realism drama,and creates a unique African absurd theatre.His dramas show a series of absurd characteristics:chaotic disorder anti-traditional plot,profound symbolic images,unusual exaggerated language,and staggered complex stage scene of time and space.
