This paper introduces the routine working method of a series of ground live replacement of 220 kV line double tensioning monolithic insulators,and explains the special tools that need to be used in the operation as well as the safety attention.According to the actual situation of the operation,advane new method and new tool for transferring the whole string of 220 kV line double tension resistant monolithic insulators on the tower,compares.the new operation method with the traditional operation method.The new operation method can improve the safety and reliab ility of the equipotential operation.
