摘要
本文跳出学界着重考察凯瑟地域小说中地方主义的研究定势,提出它们通过塑造世界主义主体和倡导多元文化认同,反映了作家对世界主义的认同。藉此,凯瑟地域书写主张以地方为根基与世界进行连接和对话,超越了地方主义的局限,图绘了美国地域文学史中地方主义与世界主义相互交织和互动的双重视野。
This essay, stepping out of the research stereotype in which the academia has focused on localism of Cather’s regional novels, proposes that the author identifies with cosmopolitanism by virtue of depicting the subject of cosmopolitan and advocating multicultural identification. In doing so, her regional writings, affirming the local’s connection and conversation with the world, surpass the limit of localism and map the double vision of localism and cosmopolitanism that interconnect and interact with each other in the history of American literary regionalism.
