理雅各英译《礼记》的解构与重建

翻译是解释,解释本身即蕴含对原文本意义的解构与重构过程。理雅各的《礼记》翻译是较典型的解构与重构的产物。具体而言,译者既在一定程度上改写了《礼记》,同时也造就了英文《礼记》。本文拟以解构主义视角探讨理雅各在其《礼记》英译过程中如何将解构的碎片重新组合,完成异域文化元素在本土文化中的重建。

Translation means interpretation, which itself involves deconstruction and reconstruction of the original. Legge’s translation of the Book of Rites is a result of a typical action of deconstruction and reconstruction. Specifically, the translator rewrites Book of Rites to some extent, and gives birth to an English Book of Rites in relative independence. This paper intends to, from the perspective of deconstructionist translation theory, explore how the translator recombines the deconstructed fragments to complete his reconstruction in the target culture.
