Exploration on the Contents and Forms of Integrating Moral Education into College English Class

德大于才是衡量人才永恒的标准,因此我国大学教育在培养高级专业人才的同时,绝不能忽视道德教育,要让我们的学生树立正确的世界观、人生观、价值观,发展健全的人格。大学英语是大学教育的必修课,凭藉语言承载道德人文思想的先天优势,可以非常方便地成为大学德育教育的主阵地之一。以《新世纪大学英语系列教材综合教程5》的部分单元为例,探讨了大学英语课堂寓德于教的内容和形式。具体可结合课文主题进行,针对相关内容进行词汇拓展、主题讨论和写作练习,还可以将与道德相关的时事带进课堂,让学生有感而发,教育效果更佳。

When judging talented people,morality is always much more valued than talent.Consequently,moral education can never be ignored when our universities and colleges cultivate higher level professionals out of our students.We must help our students to build fair visions about the world,life and values,so as to develop a healthy personality.Since college English is a compulsory subject at college,through its inherent advantage in conveying moral and humane ideas,it can be a major field of moral education for college students.This paper illustrates how to integrate moral education into college English class in terms of contents and ways by taking for example Reading Critically 5 in Serial College English Textbooks for the New Millennium.Moral education is mainly carried out by way of word building,thematic discussion and writing on related topics of the texts.Hot occurrences with moral implications home and abroad can be brought into class as well;due to their being real,they can touch the students more easily,hence more effective in moral education.
