In the novel White Deer Plain(Bai Lu Yuan),Chen Zhongshi's description contains rich country sage culture for its cultural foundation and the Bai Jiaxuan-led squires.The depiction of the country sage culture focuses on three aspects:coordination of interest disputes,containment of unhealthy tendencies and commitment to public affairs.Through these three aspects,this paper attempts to analyze the country sage culture in White Deer Plain(Bai Lu Yuan)and further enrich the interpretation of the novel.
