An Investigation into the Origin of the Disquisitions in Tibet Xiao Shi

《西藏小识》于清光绪三十四年(1908)成书,该书虽属关于我国西藏地区的地理方志类著作,但就其本质而言,实是专注于藏政时务报刊评论的整理与汇编。详细梳理《西藏小识》中各篇源流,可以发现这本所谓成书于清末的传统方志,在文献编纂的过程中既受到振兴西藏保卫边疆的爱国浪潮的感召,又受到客观上日益蓬勃发展的新闻报业的影响,已经突破了传统方志专书的编纂范式,实为方志与报纸二者相互结合的产物。

Published in 1908,Tibet Xiao Shi was edited as a local chronicle about Tibet.However,this book,by its very nature,was the compilation of current political affairs and press reviews in Tibet.Through reviewing the origin of the disquisitions in Tibet Xiao Shi carefully,this paper finds out that the compilation of the traditional local chronicle was influenced by two essential factors,which were the inspiration of the patriotism to revitalize and defend Tibet and the rapid growth of the press industry.In fact,this book was the compilation of traditional local chronicle and newspaper,since it has broken the traditional form of local chronicle.
