Breeding of Cuiwang, A New Pearl Bitter Gourd Cultivar

翠王为中早熟苦瓜新品种,植株生长势和分枝性强,叶片绿色,全生育期春季111 d、秋季90 d。第一雌花着生节位11.7～19.1节,第一个瓜坐瓜节位17.7～20.2节。瓜呈长圆锥形,瓜皮绿色,圆瘤为主、间有条瘤。瓜长30.9～31.4 cm,横径5.83～6.15 cm,肉厚1.09～1.15 cm。单瓜质量376.8～413.4 g,单株产量1.76～1.88 kg,商品率92.9%～95.5%。田间表现抗逆性较强。

Cuiwang was a new bitter gourd cultivar with medium-early maturity. It had strong growth potential and branchiness. Its leaf was green, and its whole growing period was 111 days in spring and 90 days in autumn. Its first female flower was at 11.7-19.1 knot, and its first fruit was at 17.7-20.2 knot. The fruit was long conical in shape with green skin. The fruit surface had round and a few short longitudinal alternate tumors. The fruit was about 30.9-31.4 cm in length and 5.83-6.15 cm in width, and the flesh thickness was 1.09-1.15 cm. The single fruit weight, single plant yield and commodity rate was 376.8-413.4 g, 1.76-1.88 kg and 92.9%-95.5%, respectively. In addition, Cuiwang showed a strong stress resistance in the field.
