摘要
"非西方艺术"是艺术定义视域下的一个典型问题。它不仅提出了反思西方中心主义的立场,还向"艺术定义"规划提出了跨文化艺术沟通是否可能的问题。斯蒂芬·戴维斯在"非西方艺术"问题意识下深化了对艺术定义的思考,提出了一种历史必要性限定下的艺术本质观。即艺术的本质属性因文化变迁而发生变化,某种普遍性基础在其中则持续地提供了一定的稳定性与可识别性,这些都共同构成了艺术本质的某个部分。该视野为我们思考中国艺术的本土化与全球化问题提供了更多层次的框架。
The non-Western art is a key question for the definition of Art. It not only asks for the reflection of the Western-centered position,but also proposed the doubt that if it is possible for cross-cultural communication. Stephen Davies has deepened the understanding of art definition under the awareness of non-Western art. His interpretation of art’s essence gave some kind of historical necessity to the project of defining art. Some of the essential attributes of art changes with the culture,but some general basis continues to offer a certain stability and identifiability. Both of them constitute the essence of art. This view provides a diversified framework for considering the local and global art.
