Anthropological Photography and Photographical Anthropology

人类学与摄影的关系是复杂的。对于人类学家而言,摄影既可以是用于研究过程中的记录工具,也可以是用以介入社会、文化现象研究的透镜。当以人类学的视角研究摄影这一实践行为本身时,需要一种以摄影为媒介,勾连图像、个体与社会的综合性研究方法,即"摄影—人类学"研究。它以摄影这一行为为起点,研究各种与社会、文化相关的社会学和人类学议题。

Anthropology and photography see a complicated relationship between each other.As for anthropologists,photography may serve as either a tool to record the research process or a lens to research on social and cultural phenomena.When studying the practice of photography itself from the perspective of anthropology,we need a comprehensive research method with photography as a medium to connect images,individuals and society,that is,"photography-anthropology research"which takes the behavior of photography as a starting point to study various sociological and anthropological issues related to society and culture.
