A Preliminary Study on the Refinement of Place Names in the Zhuang Language

尝试对壮语地名景观的雅化现象进行讨论,考察壮语地名景观雅化的类型、原因、方式及蕴含的文化特点。地名雅化是一种普遍现象,而壮语地名景观的立名、更名和汉译名均有雅化趋势,其中,壮语地名的汉译雅化现象尤为明显。

This paper discusses the refinement of place names in Zhuang language, which is a common phenomenon, and studies the types, causes, ways and cultural connotation that those names contain. The paper holds that there is a tendency of refinement in naming and renaming the places in Zhuang language, as well as in the Chinese translation of those names. Among them, the Chinese translation of the place names in Zhuang language is particularly obvious.
