An Examination of the War of Resistance Literature Beacon Fire (The Scream)

胡风认为《烽火》(《呐喊》)期刊内容空洞,不符时代要求。事实上,从《烽火》的创刊原因、刊物内容和办刊精神等方面来看,胡风的评价有失偏颇。《烽火》作为抗战文学的代表,它发表的文章和战争形势密切相连,反映了中国战场真实情况,因而《烽火》具有研究价值和文学史意义。

HU Feng believed that the contents of the journal Beacon Fire (The Scream) were empty and did not meet the requirements of the times. But from the reasons, contents and spirit of the publication, one can come to the conclusion that HU Feng’s evaluation was biased. As a representative of anti-Japanese war literature, Beacon Fire published articles closely related to the war situation, profoundly reflecting the real situation of the Chinese battlefield. Therefore, its research value and the significance of literary history cannot be ignored.
