《聊斋志异》创作的主体时间在康熙时期。清朝康熙时期虽然是清朝鼎盛时期的开端,但同时自然灾害也时常发生。《清史稿》灾异卷记载康熙时期的自然灾害为蒲松龄设计《聊斋志异》人物形象提供了灵感。

Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio was mainly created in the period of Emperor Kangxi.Although the Kangxi period was the beginning of the heyday of the Qing Dynasty,natural disasters also occurred frequently at the same time.The disaster volume in the Draft History of Qing,which recorded the Natural Disasters happening in the Kangxi period,provided inspiration for Pu Songling's character design of Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio.
