Yangliuqing Woodblock Printing and Urban Change of Modern Tianjin

近代中国新城市的崛起、西方文明的涌入和中国现代化的逐步发展使中国城市及其市民生活发生了不同程度的改变。作为中国四大木版年画之一的杨柳青年画将近代天津城区的变迁、租界的形成及城市中出现的新事物都呈现其中。这类年画不仅成为近代天津乃至中国社会变迁的真实写照,而且传达了社会风俗的变迁及文化思潮的发展动向。

The rise of new city,the influx of western civilization and the development of Chinese modernization,made various degrees of change on Chinese cities and their residents. Yangliuqing Woodblock printing,one of China’s four famous woodcut New Year printings,reflected the change of Tianjin city,concession formation and new things in the city. This kind of Woodblock printings was not only an authentic depiction of modern Tianjin,and even the change of Chinese society,but also conveyed development trend of change in social custom and cultural thoughts.
