Guardians of Suzhou Duke Xu’s Tomb in the Ming Dynasty

明代,徐王墓在政治和经济上给孝慈皇后之戚武氏带来了一系列优待政策,这主要源于宿州闵子乡新丰里修建了徐王庙。随着明朝灭亡,清朝建立,新政权取消了徐王墓户的优待政策,但武氏后人仍传承着祭祀徐王坟的活动。

In Ming Dynasty,Duke Xu’s Tomb brought a series of preferential policies for the relatives of Xiaoci Empress. This came with the construction of Duke Xu Temple in county Minzi Suzhou. Ming Dynasty passes away and came the Qing Dynasty. The new regime abolished those policies though Wu’s descendants still continued the activities to worship Duke Xu’s Tomb.
